Job Description

1. The Mechanical Engineer shall prepare bidding documents, participate in tender evaluations, kick off meetings, and clarify issues pertaining to tendering process with Contractors.

2. Prepare and Review of isometric, layout, general assembly, piping and P&ID drawings.

3. Plan work with Project engineer, analyze priority of activities and ensure timely completion of tasks as per defined procedures & standards.

4. Analyze/carry out risk assessments of all work orders and prepare Permit to Work (PTW) in order to ensure effective risk mitigation and completion of tasks as per company’s – Quality/HSE procedures.

5. Manage, monitor and interpret the contract and design documents.

6. Monitor and review progress of each on-going jobs related to Mechanical Engineering Discipline (but not limited to), schedules, daily/weekly/monthly plans and liaise with Foremen, Contractor Staff and other relevant Authorities providing support and advice in the proper project execution within the set procedures, specifications, and allocated budgets.

7. Select material, prepare BOQs and monitor the quality of material equipment and technical skills deployed by Contractors.

8. Carryout phased acceptance of completed work in line with relevant quality standards.

9. Carry out field testing and commissioning work.

10. Conduct “Painting Inspection” and piping inspections (Including the physical check/tallying the documentation with API/ASTM/NFPA standard conformities).

11. Conduct regular project review meetings with Contractors to discuss and resolve any technical issues as and when required to ensure completion of contracts in a safe and professional manner.

12. Day to day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring construction/installation work while resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and problem may arise.

13. Attends various internal and external meetings.

14. Assist the timely procurement of equipment and material for new projects and material transportation between Abu Dhabi & various sites to support the implementation.

15. Monitor stock and usage levels of materials, consumables, and spare parts to ensure that items are available to meet requirements and that usage is consistent with budgeted assumptions.  

16. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) (4 years full time).

17. Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred  

18. 10 – 12 years relevant experience of which at least 5 years with Fire Protection systems in Oil & Gas industry at Engineering/ Construction level.

19. Offshore construction experience as Client Engineer (or PMC) is mandatory.

20. Experience with installation/ revamping or firefighting systems are offshore platforms and islands are considered as added advantage.

21. Familiar with latest company HSE and Engineering standards.  

22. Strong knowledge and experience in installation and commissioning of static/rotating equipment and piping in Oil & Gas industry.

23. Strong knowledge and experience in engineering, installation and commissioning of Fire Protection system (water spray, Deluge, Foam, Hydrants, Monitors etc) including Fire water Pumps.

24. Strong knowledge and experience in engineering and construction of firefighting facilities at offshore Islands.

25. Well versed with AutoCad drawing development and modelling.

26. Excellent understanding of mechanical engineering principles

27. Excellent understanding of Electrical engineering principles

28. Project management skills, Experience in Primavera/ MS Projects

29. Facial Hair Policy is applied for this work nature (Candidate must follow clean shave policy)

30. Desired candidate must be COVID-19 Vaccinated including Booster Dose.
