General objective of the job:-

The Senior Economist – Efficiency and Performance is responsible for assisting the Head of Price Control in developing and implementing strict and up-to-date price control within the energy sector, including the electricity, water, recycled water and wastewater sectors.



? Creating good relations with the regulatory and management consultants of the Licensed Parties and their technical assessors.

? Keeping abreast of developments in incentive-based regulations, outputs, and other organizational arrangements, particularly with regard to their impact on the department’s responsibilities.

? Provide economic advice to the price control team and assist in the development and implementation of a modern and robust price control model.

? Assist in developing strategies and plans for price control reviews and work on their implementation.

? Work with the head of the economic affairs department and the head of the economic affairs department in the sector to obtain support for price control plans and their proposals in this regard.

? Keeping abreast of developments in the field of economics and regulations, particularly with regard to monitoring prices and incentives.

? Help ensure that consultants are used in an effective and timely manner, and that any work for them is integrated into the price control processes

? Assist in drafting consultation papers and other documents so that final documents are clear, transparent and accurate.

? Establish procedures and controls for analytics to ensure that the accounts upon which price control systems are built are robust and transparent.



 

Profile Description

? A master’s degree in economics is preferred.
? At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar field such as price control and tariff structure in the energy sector.
? Experience in regulatory affairs, which is represented in setting instructions and regulations related to the energy sector, including requests, consultations, and responses related to regulation and setting regulations and instructions.
? The ability to understand and foresight engineering data and reports.
? Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
? Ability to drive change and adapt to change in a dynamic environment.
